? Tag Heuer 2000 broken dial?

Hi I have a 11 year old Classic 2000 sport which has somehow managed to shift the face. Have sent an e-mail to cheal watch for an estimate of cost for repair.
    Have you seen this before?

'Generally' it's been very reliable. Has had a very hard life. Only two batteries so far and two TAG Heuer repairs on the bezel. As I've ordered a Casio Mudman might sell this on, what's the market for this model?

Don't let this classic go for a Casio. Your watch is very nice and the fix should be very easy.

    TAG Heuer :
    2000 Classic auto -silver
    S/EL Leather auto -ss/gold
    Formula 1 -1st edition -green
    Kirium F1

    Heuer :
    Carrera -1st re-issue -solid gold
    Monaco -1st re-issue
    trackmaster 1975

I see 2 potential problems here:

    1. The dial feet have broken and only the dial has rotated. This could be fixed by using dial dots to secure the dial.

    2. The stem has broken and the dial and movement have rotated. In this case, the stem needs to be replaced.

Does the crown pull out and still adjust time and date properly? If so, then it's problem #1.

Yes the crown pulls out and adjusts the date and time. First thought the date had slipped as the numbers in the box weren't showing correctly till the dial moved further, then it was obvious to me.

If the dial feet have broken (which sounds like the problem), an easy fix is to simply use dial dots or a little bit of adhesive (glue or tape) between the dial and movement to keep the dial from rotating. this would require removal of the hands and dial, then reinstall. Not a big repair.

the other option is to replace the dial, but I doubt you want to spend the money for that.

Cheers, dont want to spend too much on the repair. A simple fix will do.

Just had a quote for £175 for a full service and a new dial. Time to get the TAG retired then.

Get a quote from a local watchmaker. If the watch is running and keeping time, I would decline a "Full Service". Unfortunately, any authorized Tag Service will most likely require it along with a new dial. A local watchmaker could simply use dial dots to secure the dial at a much reduced fee.

Full service on an automatic and a new OEM dial? Actually, I don't consider that a bad price.

175GBP ($266) is pretty close to market value of your watch. Being a Quartz, a "full service" typically involves replacing the quartz movement, whether it needs it or not. Like I stated, if the watch is keeping time, I would decline a full service, but Tag service will require it. A local watchmaker could easily repair the dial problem with dial dots. Dial dots are often used when dial feet are missing or if installing a different dial that does not match the existing dial feet location on the movement. A full service will also include new gaskets and water resistance pressure test. A local watchmaker may not have the capability to pressure test to 200meters. If you don't plan to dive with the watch, it's not a big deal. They should be able to test water resistance up to 50m or 100m depending on their test equipment.
