Fortis Flieger 24hr (34mm) on Ebay

Item no. 130530867909. It has recently been relisted. It's listed under the name "Fortis Automatic LTD Grenchen Watch."

I mention this because I know there are people on this forum who want a 24hr Fortis (which are out of production), and this is the rare 34mm version. I know nothing about the seller, however; the watch appears to be authentic, although the pictures are out of focus. Best wishes.

Well, I guess congratulations are in order. I won that one, but now I'm not so sure that it was such a great deal. Band will need to be replaced as damaged, and shortened and incomplete. Watch won't manually wind-clutch issue? Also finicky or 'a bit dodgy' when trying to set-must hold pressure on stem out in order to engage setting mechanism. Crystal has big scratch, but hands, case, dial all good and unmolested. Seems to run well when worn and seems to keep time, when worn. Stops at rest after about 3-4 hours.

Has anyone here ever had experience with Nesbit's Fine Watch Service in Seattle with a Fortis repair?

Congratulations! But sorry to hear about the problems. I don't think the seller brought these out. I hope you gave him some feedback about that. Well, considering that the 24-hr Fliegers are rare (especially the 34 mm versions like yours), I think you did OK. BTW, if Nesbit's doesn't work for you, I've had good results with Time-Tec, an authorized Fortis service center.

Thanks Mike. I did email the seller and well, let's just say that did not go as I expected. I have not left feedback yet - but I will. All in all, and considering the price I paid, I think I did OK too. It was just very disappointing to learn (again) that some sellers just aren't as good as others. I've had good luck with Nesbit's in the past, and I am fairly certain they'll be getting a chance at this one soon. Where is Time-Tec located?

Yes, sometimes it's pretty hard to tell if a seller is a scumbag. Maybe the out-of-focus pictures were a clue.

Anyway, Time-Tec is in Los Angeles: Polar Watch service repair Battery Service Heart Monitor Professional watch repair by Time-Tec

    Good luck!

Oh, and by the way, if your watch will need any new parts, you might need to go to Time-Tec since they're an authorized Fortis service center. Fortis will not send parts to private watch repair shops.

Did you get the watch sorted out yet?

Not yet- I have been caught up in a couple of other adventures that have me distracted. I am pretty sure that once I get up to speed on some of these other things that have priority now, that it will probably go for a re-lume on the dial and a new sapphire crystal along with the necessary service work. It will run as long as it is worn-but it won't last more than 8 hours resting, and it runs a little slow all the time.
