I haven't posted in the Fortis forum in a while, but I figured this special occasion would merit a return!
I just picked up this pre-owned B-42 Pilot Pro Chrono with the orange tachy inner ring. This, in my opinion, is the best looking version of this watch. Ever since I sold my B-42 Pilot Pro Chrono GMT, I wanted to find one of these. Don't get me wrong, the GMT was probably the nicest Fortis I ever owned, but it was not getting the use it deserved. This, is the next best thing.
It is definitely an older model, with the matte finish, screw down crown, plain rotor, and one detail I was not expecting. The lug bars have flathead grooves on both ends, with one end being a screw. It wasn't a big deal, but this one does not have the locking end on the one side. I needed to use two screwdrivers to take the bracelet off.
My only concern is the screw down crown. I've only had bad luck with these, and in cleaning up this piece, I was very careful not to run it under water.
Here are some pics. I've always loved Fortis watches, and this one does not disappoint.
