    New PVD-like technology

Kahr Arms, a handgun manufacturer, has developed a proprietary coating for blackening stainless steel parts on their pistols. They're calling it "Tungsten Diamond-Like-Coating" (or Tungsten DLC).

You can read about it near the bottom of this page if you're interested: http://www.kahr.com/PA-1B/review_police0905.html

Hopefully, we'll see similar technology applied by watchmakers soon, as it sounds like it may be a slight improvement.
