Offshore Search and Rescue Helicopter photos - N.Sea

Thought I'd post a handful of pictures taken at work over the last few months. The photos were all taken by one of our crewmen. Hope you enjoy them.

Great pictures indeed, Ian ... can you tell us a bit more about which kind of missions fill your flying days?

Thanks Rik and Martin - glad you like them!

Our operation provides emergency cover for the N. Sea on a private oil company contract - essentially to provide SAR cover in the event of ditched aircraft or maratime disaster, but the bulk of our work is medevacs from rigs and vessels. We also do patient transfers in the Shetland isles and are secondary, 'undeclared' assets for the Coastguard.

Great photos, Ian! I need one of those yellow and black flight helmets worn by the crewman, however. Mind sending me one, mate?

We all wear those, ( the crewmen need them more than we do though! ) but I'm afraid they're company property and very closely controlled, even old ones get sent away for refurb. They're made by Alpha - you do see older second hand models come up for sale from time to time on ebay though.

Been an interesting winter over here, with some very interesting weather, I am sure you have had the same, and winter is definitely still got some bite left yet!
