    USCG air drop of medicine

    A couple quck pics from a drop of some medicine 400+ NM off San Fran, to the vessel's master who had deep vein thrombosis. Ceilings 250' to 350' and vis was between 1.8 and 2.4 nm; had to abort the drop twice when we lost the vessel visually 1/2 mile out.

    The vessel arrived the next day close enough to shore to have the master hoisted and medevaced by a Coast Guard helo to a hospital.

    Yeah, I'd call that first class scud running. Nice job, but the Herc is a very capable aircraft as is the pilot in this case. 250 ft between the clouds and the deck doesn't give you much wiggle room, but I am sure you've pushed it a bit harder than that over water.
