Vintage Chronomat 769 - Fake?

Hello everyone,

Been digesting this forum content voraciously--what a help! However, being new to this game, I wanted to submit this watch for view since my own knowledge is still insufficient:

Vintage Breitling Chronomat Ref 769, Venus 175 mvt | eBay

Are fakes prolific amongst the vintage Chronomats? Or are mostly new models faked?

Also, if anyone has a reference for a general price guidelines for vintage Chronomats, that would be amazing.

Hi this is à 1947 but something feels wrong
The breitling inside the caseback and on the briges is probebly made later
The watch has been under lots off Work

Most of the parts are ok but i personaly think it was put togeder mutch later then 1947

I believe its genuine and looks all good .. but I am not a vintage chronomat expert

Very interesting, because I own a Chronomat with a 704xxx serial number that is very close to that eBay listing for serial 703894. It has been in the family since my father purchased it new in 1955.

You can see from this picture that it is identical to the one listed on eBay. I have been told that it is a 1947 model with 1950's dial and hands - but my father says it was never taken in for service or had the dial replaced. It is as he purchased it.

As a point of interest does the winder on your watch have a B logo or is it plain?
