    Ball Trainmaster?

    Hi,

I bought this watch in the early 1990s for around $35.00. I used to wear it everyday and it kept pretty good time. I recently started wearing it again.

I have a couple of questions:

    1. Is this truly a Trainmaster?
    2. Are the hands original to the watch?
    3. The back is marked with 9828, to what does that refer?

Thanks in advance for any assistance!Name: IMG_1223.JPG

I am no expert, but I thought black hands were a part of the Ball RR standard

It might be a TM but as TC said above, the hands might have been replaced.

A photo of the movement should be very helpful.

    For your reference :

    Re: Ball Trainmaster?

Sometime in the late 90s, this watch was damaged. I took it to a jeweler friend of mine who did the repair. I can't be sure, but I seem to remember that he did change the hands as a "favor" to me. He has since passed away so asking him to change them back is not an option. I do have someone else who can do the work, but I want to be sure I revert it back to its true original state.

Is it possible to get an original style crystal for this watch? I had it replaced a few years ago and it's cracked already -- I think it's plastic.

I will see if I can get the back off to take some photos of the movement.

    Thanks!

So, I finally got the back off and I'll post pictures later tonight. It is a model 1604B. I did not see any 6 digit serial number.

    Thanks!
