Hurricanes are definitely a risk in early November ... my personal preference is mid December (right after Hurrican season ends and before the kids school gets out), but between Thanksgiving an Xmas, it may prove difficult to get critical mass, so go with early Nov and put me down for a definitive maybe.
Longhorn, glad you liked the reports. I have to tell you , it was your request in an earlier thread to know our dive locations, that really inspired me to go into the depth that I did with the reports. I hope it gave you a good enough idea of what diving is like on the East End.

You're right, hurricanes are still a consideration even into November. They do seem less likely, than in the latter months of summer. I don't know, we'll have to see if storms are a deterrent. If so, then it's possible the trip could be moved into late winter/early spring.

    Have a nice day.

Happy to be your muse. Those pictures of Maggie's Maze and the swim throughs were fantastic.

Thanks, Maggie's Maze was my favorite reef site. There was just something about it that really intrigued me.

So, do you think you'll be able to get in an East End dive while you're out there? Ocean Frontiers has no problem booking single day trips.

    Have a nice day.

Agreed. Maggie's was definitely in my top 3 - there was so much life, so much variety. So many structures to swim through and around - but with plenty of room so you didn't have to worry as much about brushing against something. Since it was more shallow than the wall dives, the lighting was pretty good too.

I'm still curious if Maggie was a divemaster or a dog... kind of a big difference...

I hope so. We're less than a month away but I haven't booked anything yet. I've just been swamped with work lately.

    Re: "Searaider 2007" (Part I) We're back!!!

Speaking of the DOXA diving straps - which we weren't - I looked and discovered that my original 600T strap is different. It doesn't have fish on the back, but rather raised, round bumps. The front has stripes grooved lengthwise in between the DOXA and SUB lettering. I can't describe it, I'll have to get a photo tomorrow.

I just had to point out that it was different (ie: I was right, I was right, I'm not going senile- yet).

The older style you have is still shown in a pic at the top of the page (on a sharkhunter) when you select "all accessories". I used to have the orange as well as black versions for my sub600t and I thought they were cool, very soft.

Thor, the strap you have is what many of us refer to as the "Hershey Bar" strap (probably ought to be "Nestle" though ). It's a great looking strap, I managed to snag one for my vintage 300T. Wish they still made them!

I just finished reading through the trip report and I have to say, you've made an Omega man (and diver) very jealous. I wonder if you would have an "outsider" on your next trip. My Planet Ocean has seen its share of bottom time. Who knows, I might be tempted to buy a Doxa at Landmark!

    Nice write-up!

    Cheers.

I say COME ALONG!!! We will make a Doxa man out of you yet
    Best Regards,
