    B&R BR03 using 2824 instead of 2892?

I was under the impression that the "92" in the BR03-92 means that it uses an ETA-2892. I came across one for sale on ebay, and the seller says the following:

Since this BR is equipped by ETA 2824 (or SW-200) which has been used in newer series (you can tell from the the serial which is 2xxxx),
the screw on the case back will not be exactly the same position as older series which were equipped by ETA 2892. BR 03-92 which serial start with 2xxxx have this same screw's position.

Is this accurate? The BR03-92 that I have coming in the mail also has a 2xxxx serial numbers. I was hoping that I would have a watch with a 2892 in it.

Why you surprised? They use an SW200 in the 02s. Haven't heard about the 03s that the OP is questioning, but wouldn't be surprised.

Right, that's why I was surprised.....a movement change up in the 03 with little discussion "out there" about it? That kinda surprised me is all.

But I guess it shouldn't have......

    BR02 movement: ETA 2892 or Sellita 200?

It's a bit surprising to me. I read a thread recently where the poster was irate when he found out his TAG Heuer had a "knock off" movement in it. At the time, I thought that it was completely ridiculous. No where does TAG advertise that the Calibre 5 is an ETA movement.

B&R on the other hand has "92" in the name. Perhaps it should be changed to the BR03-20 if it uses a Sellita 200??

Can anyone verify this by the way?

I can't verify cause this is the first time I'm hearing it regarding the 03. As I said before I have heard about it regarding the 02.
But does the 92 in BR-03-92 stand for 2892? Because then what does the 96 or 97 stand for in 01-96 and 01-97??

    ETA-2896 and ETA-2897...and the chronograph (BR03-94) I believe has an ETA-2894.

Thanks for that. It seems a little misleading if in fact you are right.

I can't say for sure that that's what those numbers refer to, but I have read it on some forums before, and it seems to be an awfully huge coincidence if not.
