BR WW1 or Tag Carrera Day Date?

Hi, I'm new to this forum so hopefully this post isn't in the wrong forum

So I will be turning 18 soon and my dad offered to buy me a watch. I narrowed down to the new BR WW1 96 watch with the big date. I really like the clean style of it. But I'm struggling between the BR and the Tag Carrera Day Date bracelet version. I want a Tag because of its reliability (I have a omega PO right now), but I'm really digging WW1's style - cleanness and vintage look. There is not much of a price difference, I'm planning to ask him get it from authenticwatches (they are trustworthy aren't they?). Thanks for all comments.

I don't see anything similar about these two watches to compare. You're going from a chronograph to a very simple, legible dial that is made to look like it dates back to the early 1900's. If you're even considering the WW1 96, (which IMHO is the nicest of the three black banded ones ), then there's no doubt you should go for the B&R. It's a watch with a "look" and evidently, you like that look. BTW, Happy Birthday!

Haha, I know right? They are two completely different watches. I want the Carrera with bracelet because of its sporty look (I'm still young LOL). But I think I'm going for the WW1. It is subtle but elegant, blends into the crowd and attracts no attention. Thanks for the Bday wish BTW!!

I'd go for the B&R over the Tag myself, it's more stylish and has a classic yet very individual look.

I've tried the b-uhr style one a few times, it's a rugged looking piece. I'd prefer the WW1-97 though, it's so clean and simple with just the power reserve.

I would have to say the B&R would be more unique. I tried on some of these B&Rs recently and while I love the watches I would like to see a nicer band supplied with them. I didn't like any of the OEM straps that come with the heritage series. I think that particular WW1 watch would look good on a nylon cuff style strap or maybe a quality bund strap. There is no wrong choice here. Go with your gut and what ever you choose can be changed at any time.
