BR03-92 Phantom Lume and its comparison to Ball EM II Diver GMT

    Hello All,

I'm strongly considering a Phantom but need feedback on it's lume. Do any of you have feedback on it's lume intensity and color?

It's either this or a Ball EM II Diver GMT for me. While I really like the Phantom, it's more expensive than the Ball, which has an additional GMT function. Can anyone enlighten me on why B&R is more expensive and what are its merits over the Ball?

    Thanks!

The bell and ross phantom on the BR 03 92 series has an unique overall appearance. However the lume glows with a very light gray, and it doesnt last long. Personally i regret on getting the phantom. It looks great in the day but useless at night. I wore it once when i was going into a cinema and it was completely useless, I could barely see the dial.

The lume intensity on the Phantom is pretty low - minimally visible after shining direct light on it for a few seconds.

I don't know what the Ball's lume looks like, but I have a PO and a Navitimer, and they both have much brighter lume - especially the PO.

Its pretty useless at night unless you're indoors in bright light. On the other hand, I would imagine that this is in keeping with the whole "Phantom" motiff. Still a very striking watch (in bright light, at least). I'm wearing it now (indoors) and the dial is easily visible.

Your post actually got me curious, so I performed a little experiment...

On the left is a Navitimer, and on the right is a PO. All were exposed to bright light for about a minute.

The Phantom is dimmer compared to the two, but not as far behind as I had originally thought.
