    BR03-92 winder question

I've had my B&R (eta 2892 movement) for about a year now. For most of that time it was my only automatic and got a lot of wrist time. Always kept great time. Recently I bought a few more autos and got a Brookstone four place winder. I set the B&R to 650 turns per day as directed by the Orbita database. I wore the watch about once or twice per week. Last week was the first time I didn't wear it for a whole week. Today I noticed that it was about 5 minutes slow but still running - on the winder. I reset it and wore it to work today. Late this afternoon I was surprised to notice that it's about 5 minutes slow again. What gives? Is there something going on with the winder? Perhaps the setting in the Orbita database is wrong?

    I appreciate your advice...

Is your winder set to bi-directional? I have mine on a Brookstone and I don't lose five min. in a month. It should be set at 650 tpd in the two direction setting. If it is, maybe it's the watch?

Is it happening to your other watches? Might give you some insight to whether it's the watch or winder... My guess is it's the watch, though, sorry.

The other 3 autos on the winder are fine. Two of them (Halios Laguna and a Helson Shark Diver) use the same movement as the B&R and are set to the same winder settings.

Sounds like the B&R needs some adjustment then...

Is that common for a 1 year old watch?

Did you buy it new or used? If new, you should have the warranty coverage... my Aquaracer needed to be serviced 13 months after I bought it. I won't lie, I was very upset but it needed to be done.

I purchased new from an AD. It kept time thru the night on the winder, I'm wearing it again today to see what happens. Thanks for the advice.

Well...I'm embarrassed to say that i think this was "operator error". I think i had set the watch to thewrong time and then put it on the winder for a few days. When i went to put it on i believe i set it to the wrong time again and didn't notice throughout the day. Its kept perfect time on and off the winder ever since.

I liked this both for the fact that it is exceptionally entertaining but also that nothing is wrong with your watch!
