Photos from the 2011 Basel Apointment

    Hi everyone,
This year I have been minding the store and Russ is in Basel. He had his Zenith Basel Appointment today and took lots of pictures. Here is a tease of a new pilot that will have a U.S. retail of $5,800. He has been sending me emails when he gets back to his hotel from his other appointments, so I should be able to put a detailed post together tonight. I'm particularly excited about the Stratos models and can't wait to see all the varieties of the models that were shown. It looks like there will be a lot of choices for the lover of the larger sport watch (who only got the Rainbow Flyback last Year).

The Zenith Pilot Watch at $5,800

    Zenith Stratos Flyback

Steel Models appear to be priced for U.S. Market at $6,700 on a alligator strap and $7,600 on a bracelet.

Stratos is available in a “Alchron” case (an allow made from aluminum and steel). It can be ordered in either a black alligator strap (I assume like the above strap for $7,200 or a fabric strap for $7,100. All of Russ's photos of the watch were of the Fabric strap version.

Stratos Alchron Case on a fabric strap. $7,100

The New strap and a view of the deployment buckle open.

As was nicely shown on the James List Blog http://blog.jameslist.com/2011/zenit...nograph-watch/
There is a limited edition version of this watch featuring Swedish explorer Johan Ernst Nilson. In that post, it was shown on an Alligator Band.
The watch was shown at the show as orderable for $7,800 on a Fabric strap as well.

Also available (but I don't think they had samples are versions with gold trim $13,800, and what appears to a case with a great deal more gold at $18,400)

Here is the press release for the Stratos flyback from their website.

And the Striking 10th Limited Edition at $11,200 on a strap and $12,100 on a bracelet.

Here is a press release about the Stratos Striking 10th from Zenith's website.

Here are photos of the new Chronomaster Open 42mm.

This watch will feature four price-points.
    1. Steel Case, Alligator band $7,700
    2. Steel case, steel bracelet $8,200
    3. Steel and 18kt gold case, alligator band $8,900
    4. 18kt gold case, alligator band $16,500

Here are some samples russ took shots of.

There were considerable new models in the Elite family as well. Russ didn't spend nearly as much time on these as he did on the ones above, but here we will close this post with a few pictures he took of the new Elite Dual time, and provide pricing information for the new Elite models.

This is the new Dual Time in silver and in black. This model will retail for $4,600 on alligator and $5,400 on a bracelet.

And here is the catalog photo.

Not shown are the new power reserve models where the price point has dropped below 5K to $4,900

Thanks for looking! I can't wait for our sales rep to bring samples by the store!

Thanks for the post and looking forward to some more pics. This one is not too bad. I am hoping that they lume all of the hands sort of the way Oris has. Makes the watch more appealing to me.

    Thanks again!

Thanks for the pics and pricing info. I like that black Stratus. Good to see that they're adding a seconds scale to the seconds subdial.

Re: Photos from the 2011 Basel Apointment

Great pics. The brand just keeps getting better and better over the last 2 years. I'm considering the Captain Central Seconds but wanted to see what came out at Basel before pulling the trigger. I drool over the 1/10th second movement and an El Primero must be everyone's grail but I am hoping they'll change the overlapping dials. I so don't get the logic of having the world's most accurate and reknowned chrono movement which cannot be accurately read but it seems they will persist with the layout in 2011. It almost makes all of that craftsmanship, history and quality become a fashion accessory as it can't be used for what it does best.

Will there be an Elite movement Stratos too?

great shots. I'm happy to see them continue to offer something with the open view from the face, it's really distinctive.
