Question Is the ceramic inlay worth the extra money?

I was thinking of getting the Ocean one black. This would be my first Steinhart.

I am not sure if the ceramic bezel is worth the extra money?

    Opinions?

    Thanks.

Based on the posts of those who have ordered it, not only is it worth the extra dollars, (approx. $32.00) it's a great deal. I like the look but not on my O1VR. As always it's a matter of what you like.

I'll be more concern on whether will it break easily than the regular aluminium ones, if it faces harsh condition accidental "abuse"...

I took a look at the ceramic bezels from posters and although it appears nice, the numerals are difficult to read. I would use the bezel everyday to time lunch and for parking meters. I guess I will stick with the aluminum.

when you look at what other higher end brands are charging for ceramic, then its a steal

i own the ceramic O1Bc and you can read the numerals just fine.... true if the light catches the watch is a certain way the shininess can obscure the legibility, but this is about as hard to resolve as rotating your wrist a couple of degrees, to be fair the bezel is most readable when viewed square on - which is how most people look at their watch :P

it hadn't occurred to me that it might be possible to shatter the ceramic, just occurred to me that it would be a lot more scratch resistant than the aluminium bezel...

if i ever drop my watch & break the ceramic bezel, personally i'll be thanking my lucky stars it didn't land on the crystal ;)

Me too. I prefer the look and easy, lo-cost replaceability of the printed aluminums.
Homage watches democratize history for the common wrist.

yes. I have 3 O1s. 2 with aluminium, 1 with ceramic. Just a tad classier, from my perspective.

It seems that the ceramic bezel and the aluminum bezel are both on the same price from Gnomon. But the Steinhart website details doesn't seems so updated or having options for buyers to choose on.
