    Decent watch band for Aviation?

    Hi there,

I bought an Aviation GMT. I got the standard band which, like most watches has the retainer loops so you can tuck it in after putting it on your wrist. Both of these split on me in the first couple of weeks. Honestly this was such a disappointment as I expected more :(

So, I'm looking for a replacement to do this watch justice, and I'm not sure if the standard one is really desirable. I love the colour, look and stitching... but I don't like the way the loops fell apart and let the rest of the watch down. Is it possible to have a watch band without adhesives or the waxy stuff down the sides of the watch band?

Did I get unlucky? What are others experiences? Would some of the other Steinhart watch bands have other construction methods? Would anyone like to recommend me a replacement watch band from a different brand? If no one has had these issues should I just give it another go?

    how about this from Panatime:
NEW-24mm Vintage Tobacco With White Stitching 5mm Thick 120/80

they actually have a tone of 24mm straps, i'm sure you'll fine something interesting.

Also B&R type strap would look good on Aviation , check out this site: Quality Leather Watch Bands for Bell and Ross BR-01 BR-02 or BR-03

I have mine on a Toshi strap and I've been happy with it so far.

    Welcome to the forum angercopter....

Yes, you have been unluckly, generally, the straps are very well made. If the strap is reasonably new you should contact Steinhart & let them know the strap has failed. They may offer you a new one.
