    OVM on Leather!

    Hope this helps...

I'm not sure if I am in the minority, but I like the look of the leather natos in pictures, but I really don't find them very attractive in person with all the folds, tucks, and whatnot. I know there has been very few OVMs posted with leather straps, so I figure I would post mine to help any of those that might be on the fence. My OVM lives on a Brown Kain Heritage Strap with charcoal stitching for anybody curious. I think it is a pretty great combo! The one thing I did notice on the OVM (maybe Steinharts in general?) are that the lug holes are close to the end of the lugs...which would leave a gap in a thinner replacement strap between the lug bars and body.

Your strap looks great. I put my Ocean 2 on a waterproof Hirsch leather strap. I will see if the strap is really waterproof this summer.

davetag, superb combo mate, enjoy it...

You could also look at a lighter brown leather that would better match the vintage colour of the hour/minute markers.

I agree although I do have this ZULU from Crown and Buckle Black & Olive (Bond) Zulu - 22mm - Crown and Buckle but also just ordered this super dark charcoal one that I think will look great with the tanned threading...
    Benton - 22mm Black Buffalo - 22mm Straps - Width - Crown and Buckle

Otherwise I have two leathers that I use. The dark one is from Steinhart that is so so on the watch. The second is a 24mm crown and buckle squeezed in there. Since these pics I have aged it for a much more rough appearance. Looks like it did go through a war. I also have been known to put my Strapcode heavy mesh on from time to time. Will send pics of the OVM on the black one above when it arrives.
