Ready to buy. Need help deciding

I haven't bought a new watch in quite a while and I about to buy my first Steinhart. I will be wearing this watch both for casual and work so polo shirts and long sleeved dress/sport shirts. Both of my other watches (Tag Heuer 2000 sport blue and Gucci chrono) are 38mm or smaller.

I absolutely love the new limited edition Nav B Chrono but I am concerned that the 47mm will be too big on my 7" wrist. I went out today and tried on some watches locally including a Fossil 48mm watch and one that is 50mm and they looked huge (to me). A 46mm Fossil looked OK but it was all black with a tan strap so that may have made it look smaller.

Other styles I like are the Nav B Chrono with the leather strap, the Appolon Chrono, amd maybe the Ocean II black.

    Any suggestions?

    Thanks and regards

    Dennis

I love the new Limited edition Steinhart that was just released. and I am getting one ASAP.

As far as size, I have a 7.5 inch wrist and have a 53mm watch, a 50mm and several in the upper 40's. I have a steinhart that is 47mm just like this new one and I love it. The only reason that would make a watch seem TOO big is if the watch is too thick and does not fit fluidly to the wrist. the Steinhart IS kind of thick so it's something to consider, but I love big watches! even so, I definitely do not think it looks out of place and I have never had anyone say my watches look TOO big on me..

I would go with the best steinhart you can afford! if you can afford the new chrono, do it! or, I would suggest getting a standard Chrono that is a little cheaper and slightly smaller (44mm) and there's no way you could go wrong with 44! it'd be just right IMO!

Also, you can click HERE to see what the steinhart looks like on my 7.5 inch wrist!

I would consider the Marine Chrono, blue or gray dial.
I think it fits better your style ...

Just take a look, please. ;)

Or the new Nav. LSE: simply wonderful.

    hi and Welcome.

Regarding Larger Watches, anything NEW "Large" will look Odd at first cause if you're Not used to Wearing Them.
i'm not Surprised that you Found the 48 & 50 mms Huge. but once you Start Wearing Larger Watches (45, 46, 47mms) you won't go back to Smaller Cases. that's the say the least in my Experience.! some can go back and forth but i find it Hard to wear something Small. maybe because of my Aging eyes .

a few years ago, i thought a 40mm Case Diameter was my Limit. then went Larger to 44 and Now 95% of the Watches in my Collection are 47mms. BTW, my Wrist is 7 to 7,1/4 Inch.

that's Said. i have some Rules when it comes to Wearing Larger Watches. that is if Lugs Extend Beyond my Wrist ? then the Watch is too Big for me.. (but once in a while i wear the 55mm LACO. and looks Great ).
it also has to do with the Wrist Shape. usually Flat Wrist can pull off Larger Watches easily.

now Picking out A Watch can be confusing especially if you have many Choices. but since you're looking for a Casual,Dressy and for most occasions Watch ? there are a few to conside:

    The Nav-B II .
    The Aviation.
    Marine Chronograph.
    and Marine Chronometer.
    a Great Dressy Watch.

    all have a 44mm Case Diameter ..
so don't Rush it. take your time. hangout here for a while then pull your Trigger.

    Good Luck Hunting

Re: Ready to buy. Need help deciding

Thanks for all the comments. I appreciate it. I think I am leaning toward the Nav b II chrono with the leather strap. I like the look of the apollon chrono as it is unique but am concerned it will look too big and chunky. A couple quick questions about the Nav B II chrono

    1. Has anyone gotten one of these recently and is it still coming with the dark brown buffalo strap? I have seen some posts about strap substitutions and really prefer this strap.
    2. Also is the NavB II chrono with the leather strap coming with the diamond crown? On their site, the DLC shows the diamond crown but the stainless and leather strap versions show the standard.

    Thanks for any info.

    Regards,

    Dennis

    Hi Dennis.

You can choose the crown you prefer, as I read in previous posts.

About the strap, you can ask details to Steinhart but I think there is no problem if you ask for a special one instead of the standard when you place your order.

    Good luck.

Re: Ready to buy. Need help deciding

I emailed Steinhart and they said the diamond crown wasn't available on the Nav B Chrono with the leather strap. OK.

Where I am still confused is the band the watch comes with. I asked them if it came with the dark brown buffalo band shown on the webpage and their response was that it comes with a brown band with rivets but not if it is the one shown in the picture. They said I could request a different band when I ordered but I am not sure which band comes on the watch. I emailed them back for clarification but haven't heard back.

Does anyone know which band is shown in this post:

    Show your Steinhart (Part 2)

I thought it might be this one but the finish/color looks different:

Special bracelet aviation buffalo mocca vintage - bracelet 22mm - Steinhart Watches

    Thanks for any help

    Dennis
