Steinhart Pre-Order Question

My pops loved my new Steinhart Ocean Vintage GMT soooo much, that he ordered the Ocean 1 GMT (Coke Bezel) from Steinhart yesterday. The watch is available Only by Pre-Order and says "ready for shipping not before August 29th 2011". Now in my Vintage buying experience, it was available the very next day after seeing the same message, but I have noticed the watch my pops ordered, the date keeps getting pushed back.

Anyone else have an thought or comment regarding their similiar experience with ordering pre-order watches from Steinhart?

arut, there isn't anything to be concerned about, the pre-order process is the standard means to purchase a watch that is currently out of stock at Steinhart HQ. Simply put the next batch of watches are still in production & the dates provided by Steinhart on the website are tentative arrival dates only. Any number of reasons can push out the manufacturing process & therefor when the watches are available but again it insn't anything unusual for Steinhart or other watch companies to offer a pre-order policy & also having to wait upon some suppliers. Each batch of watches can have it's own problems & delays meaning your Pops watch buying situation will likely be different to you own.
