I think the engraved sapphire caseback shown on the Laco is fine. The 2801 is not a big movement and it does give the watch a unique look. I'd rather not look at the spacer.

Blue hands, heavy-duty lume, engraved caseback and an option to replace it with the massive caseback version...sounds like a good plan,

    Glen

At the moment, I've ordered the display back, since the 2801 is nicely decorated. I know with display back, historically it's not correct. But the massive case back also looks nice. Very confusing

I have tried my best to convince Laco to lower the price of blue hands especially if we combine the Baumuster B blue hands or perhaps even find another supplier. Here is Mr. Pfieffer's reply:

We asked some Swiss manufactures (for blue steel hands are only available in Swizerland).
Most of them don't need new clients - that's what they told us.
So the only company that will suppy us has given the price and delivery time.
No possibility to get cheaper steel blue hands with own design for us.

The blue hands for Baumuster B have to look different (hour hand).
So this will not raise the quantity concerning one special design.

But I can tell you, most forum members will not be able to see the difference
between steel blue hands and blue coloured hands. The only difference is
that steel blue hands are looking black most of the time. They only get the
blue colour when exposed to light in a certain angle. Blue coloured hands
will show the blue colour all the time.

What do you gents think? We should probably make a choice as soon as possible since placing an order now will ensure that hands arrive in several weeks.

    Cheers,
    Bhanu

regardsing price and delivery time, i would prefer painted blue hands for both Baumuster A and B - watch. for me the more important thing is the correct shape of the hands!

Given this type of watch I would also vote +1 for painted blue hands (taken into consideration delivery times etc). But whichever the outcome of the majority, it's fine with me!

Steel blue hands get my vote every time.

With all this time and effort invested I don't like compromising on the details. The wait does not bother me nor does the price. In every hobby, the last 10% costs the most - that's what the point of diminishing returns is about and why watch collecting (and watchmaking I suppose) is such a diabolical pursuit.
