Right you are, there may be a run of "WUS inspired" watches in the future. We canīt get a patent or "trade mark" on this "Sonderanfertigung". Our watch will still be known as the "Sonderanfertigung". We were the first, that will be the merit of all who contributed.

    Hi -

PLEASE, no extended stem. It's simply inapropriate for the size of the watch and the function: all it will do is dig into the side of the wrist.

The extended stem made sense on the 55mm watch, as it was worn on the outside of the flight suit and was designed to be wound while wearing gloves. I do not plan on doing that with this watch, but will be wearing it in a business environment, and the extended stem would be a real deal-killer for me. We're NOT looking at reproducing the watch: if you want that, get the 55mm replica! This is a hommage, and let's leave it at that...

    Hi -

I think we can be assured that clones of this watch will appear on eBay in the future. Probably even with "Nubmer 25 of 50" engraved on the back (spelling mistake deliberate...)...

    Doesn't change a thing.

Same here. A uncomfortable stem makes no sense at all.

Mikes "onion" looks like the perfect compromise!

Unfortunately, the entire crown cannot be viewed too cleanly in this picture, but this shows, I think, what the last few posts have been describing. This picture was posted ealier in this project by toddh, but I'm not sure we were ready yet to look at it closely for crown consideration at that time. I think it shows a fairly conservative Onion crown flushed (I think) to the case, and evenly curved, not triangle (taurus)or such. If anyone has a better picture, of this set up, I'll bet it would be worth looking at. Sometimes a picture is worth a bunch of words.

Same watch I hope (?) with a clearer view of the crown.

Nice. Thanks Lencoth!! Something we can look at. For me, the Crown could be a bit larger in scale to the watch as a whole, just me on that. It would look cheap if, when the crown is pulled out, you could visualize the stem showing between the Crown and the Case. A large tube (actually part of the Crown), hidden when closed, showing slightly when in "set" position with unseen o-ring, would lend to an impression of simplicity with deep engineering underpinnings for those who care to look and feel.

Seconded. Also Joihn's view that if one wants the stem, one might as well get the 55mm replica.

My Stowa FO LE has a nice onion crown, and looks historical enough.
