I agree Mike, that kind of redundacy looks weird, specially on a tool-watch style.

Especially the limited number between the lugs ... that kind of "look here, I am something special" would run counter to the spirit of the original watch which was a tool. An engraved LE number on the outside of the case will be a deal breaker for me.
I beg to differ about the FL 23883 engraving, however. The original had a double engraving, too - one on the inside caseback (which in our version has been transposed to the outside caseback), and on the side. I think it will not detract from the spirit of the watch to have the double engraving of this number which is so characteristic of this type of watch.

I share Mike's opinion: just one FL 23883 outside, being my preference on the side, like the original.
The two engravings made all sense in the original, because one of them wasn't visible unless the backcase was opened, but not in this case.
Regarding that comments that our creation does not fulfill the Ministerium's demands, so it shouldn't show the side engraving, I don't get it. If we follow that route we shouldn't be doing this project in the 1st place, because we shouldn't do a dial, hands, crown, case, etc, etc... like the Baumuster B B-Uhr.
We're doing an hommage of the B-Uhr and I think it wil be interesting that the watch can have the most of the characteristic elements of the original.
I'll certainly love to explain to my children how a B-Uhr was, using this watch as an example.

If we have only one engraving of FL 23883, I would prefer that to be on the side.
The engraving itself should not be an issue, because FL 23883 on the caseback is as wrong - or as right - as on the side. If the number on the caseback hasn't been an issue so far, it shouldn't be now.![]()

OK, I bow to the majority decision! I accept the FL stamping on the side.
Btw, do you see the elegant line of the lugs ? It was a functional "toolwatch/instrument", but Laco gave it some nice touches

FL 23883 on the side then. pleaseeeeeeeeeeeeee

TA.
I also support the "FL23883" case-edge engraving generally along the 09:00 position. Enhances understated period accuracy. Janne, that watch of yours sure is sweet.
"If we only have one engraving of 'FL 23883' I would prefer that to be on the side." For my taste (bruce), one on case side is good.

The engracving on the sides looks good on the stowa, which has a 41mm case, so Ithink it would look just as good if not betteron the Laco 42mm case.

Just to inform all:
I am happy with "skinny" minute hand, black painted hands, lume as Original/ Stowa, sand blasted finish, "Fl.." engraving on back or back/side, crown- Vogler, etc.
Maybe it is time to come to a conclusion of the specs? A poll? (BTW, will I get 2 votes - one for each watch? )
And when we have agreed, then we will see what Laco can do for us!
What I worry most about is - what is the next project?
I had a funny thought today while doing some root canal work on a patient: - we do not know each other, our real names, where we live (with exceptions), what we do, the "race" and religion, and the fact that we will never meet each other!
Despite that- and maybe bacause of that - what a fantastic, satisfaing project this is!
This has been such an incredible experience!
