This watch is a really pretty, feminine piece of jewellry from a bygone era.
I've seen this style of watch referred to as "transitional", "convertable", "conversion", "Edwardian" (after Kind Edward of England circa early 1900s), and "pendant".
This style of watch originated as small ladies pocket watches that or pendant watches that were converted to use as a wristwatch by adding wire lugs or small attachments that a band could hook onto so as to wear them on the wrist.
Men's wristwatches were not popular as they were viewed as "too dainty" for a real man to wear until they were adopted by soldiers during WWI as they were less susceptible to breakage and easier to use when belly deep in mud with chunks of metal flying over your head.
It would be fair to say that women's wristwatches like this one, were the very first wristwatches in popular use.
It is in GOOD condition.
The gold plated case. Some wear-through but it looks like part of the pattern. There is a personalization engraving on the back (many collectors view engravings as quaint snapshots of history and neither add to nor detract from the value of the watch)
Metal flex band approriate to the era. Possibly original.
It contains a 15 jewel movement. 15 jewel movements were seen only in the better watches in that period.
Probably original crystal.
Terrific blued hands.
