Founded by Henri Sandoz in 1891in the small town of Tavannes in the Canton of Bern, the Tavannes Watch Company consistently produced high-quality timepieces under its own name as well as its Cyma label.

This pretty example looks to date to the mid to late 1940s. The original dial features a mix gold-tone Arabic numerals and circle markers. The hands are all free of corrosion. Has some very light age spots in keeping with its age.

The Tavannes-signed 17-jewel movement is running strong and keeping great time.

The case is heavy gold filled with no signs of wear through even on the sharp edges.

Inner caseback.

Measures in at 23mm by 24mm excluding crown and lugs.

Here's a shot on my 7.5 inch wrist to give an idea as to size.

Buckle on the original mesh band is also heavy gold fill and showing no wear.

Nice watch, great price of only $73 shipped anywhere in the USA via USPS First Class Mail.
