For sale is a Seiko 6309-7049 that has been customized with a Doxa Searambler SUB style dial from Dagaz, Doxa style hands, brushed silver chapter ring, and an acrylic bezel insert with lumed markers. The glossy sunburst dial changes color from gray to silver depending on viewing angle. Really nice. The dial indices and the hands are lumed with Superluminova.
The base watch for the mod is a Seiko 6309 cushion case diver. There are a couple of scratches on the case back and some strap changing marks on the lugs, but the case is in overall outstanding shape. The crystal is flawless. The crown screws down nice with 3-4 turns.
The 6309 movement was cleaned and oiled about a month ago. The timekeeping is a bit slow at the moment though (-40 to 60 seconds per day dial up) because it was not regulated particularly well. It keeps better time while worn on the wrist, but it should be able to keep much better time with a simple regulation.
Edit: It occurred to me that I could just have the watch movement regulated before shipping it out so I did just that about 15 minutes ago. The service man adjusted it in 3 or 4 positions. It should be good to go now. I'm timing it now and will update the thread tomorrow. Interested buyers can still contact me in the mean time.
The watch ships on a Tropic style rubber strap with William Jean's special double flanged spring bars so you can change straps with ease. Also included are a pair of Seiko fat spring bars.
The price is **SOLD** $215 shipped in the CONUS. I accept PayPal. Buyers in Canada will need to add extra for shipping. Please contact me for arrangements. I have perfect feedback here so you can deal with confidence.
