    Sub-C without Cyclops (116610)

Here are a few shots of my Sub-C with a new cyclops-free crystal. For me, it really cleans up the face and makes the date and time easier to read from more angles...

    I love it!

A couple of gorgeous watches in this thread. If I could only own one Rolex, it would honestly be a Sub-C without the cyclops. I have read of a technique that can be used to remove the cyclops from the crystal. But a replacement crystal seems better if one were to one day consider selling the watch, as some buyers will insist on the original crystal with cyclops. Still, 3x magnification over the date window is simply HUGE!

Actually 2 1/2 times but still HUGE. The thing with the cyclops is that you need to look at the date straight on because at an angle the date is all distorted.
Also, the date window on the Rolex is no smaller that most other watch brands such as Seiko. The cyclops is an icon that I think Rolex wants to hang on to.
If anyone is interested, eBay has plain no cyclops sapphire crystals. You don't even need to know the part number. Pick out a seller with Rolex crystals, give your watch case # and he will email back what he has that will fit.

It just dominates the dial though. Perhaps Victorinox has the right idea with their 500M Dive Master . . . Putting the cyclops below the crystal.
