Looking for a good digital stopwatch with mechanical buttons

So, I got a Kenneth Cole automatic today, which only tells the time. No bother - now that I think about it, a dedicated stopwatch is most likely better anyway. But one of the problems for finding dedicated stopwatches is finding one with good buttons.

Most of the time, the buttons on stock stopwatches like these are soft and squishy and very hard to press, making them rather inaccurate. I'm looking for one with a press that actually clicks down like on mechanical stopwatches and most analog watches with a chronograph function. Does anyone know of a brand/model of digital stopwatch that does this?

Preferred would be ones with 1/1000 second resolution and some form of split/lap memory.

I don't know one with buttons which feel like a mechanical stopwatch. However, I suspect the feel on a good stopwatch, like a Seiko S056 would have a positive feel. Anyone out there own an S056 or similar?

Not mechanical but the best buttons on any digital watch I used so far - Casio G-Shock G-7710/7700 series - it has 1/1000 and you can store lap/split times - the stopwatch only goes up to 10hrs however. It has a bunch of other neat features and it's one of the smaller models - not a giant chunk of resin on the wrist (not that I wouldn't like those too )).

I sound like a broken record, but the swiss army classic chrono xls mt has this... except it is not two buttons, the crown is a multi-functional button.

I found that watch at a store, but it was, like, $1000.

Also, isn't the Timex Ironman just a watch? I'm looking for a dedicated stopwatch.

There's no such thing as what you're looking for.

You should just get a mechanical chronograph watch. I think you could probably get a Hamilton with a 7750 for less than $1k.

Or just look for a used mechanical chronograph on ebay. Like the one they have on 60 minutes. Of course, you won't get 1/1000 sec. You just can't have it all.

I use digital stopwatches at work. We have many different models, but they all have the squishy-type digital buttons. Even with that squishiness, they are more accurate than any mechanical model, and with a much greater resolution.

Re: Looking for a good digital stopwatch with mechanical buttons

How about a Hanhart mechanical stopwatch?
    Hanhart Stoppuhren - Hanhart Additionsstopper 1/5 Sek. Classic-beige 125.3901-50 / 125.3912-00
They only got models with up to 1/100 resolution. 1/1000 is overkill anyway.
