Stripped screw heads on new SGW-100-1VEF

    Hey guys,

just wanna ask you what I shall do with my new SGW-100-1VEF because unfortunately the screw heads from the screws on the outer bezel are stripped (see attached pictures)...

I do not really know how common this problem is (if it even IS a problem?) and if I should just live with it or send it back for exchange. I really like the watch but am a bit afraif that this could be a problem in the future when I want to sell the watch... Because it definitely looks a bit like someone with really big hands tried to open this thing up or so. ;)

    What do you think?

Was this a new watch? How did you discover the screws were stripped? if it arrived in this condition as a new watch I would definitely ask for a refund or replacement.

Yup, that thing was bought completely new and came out of a factory sealed box... Or at least, it looked like that. And I can not imagine that Amazon is selling used stuff.

I do not exactly understand your question how I discovered it...? I just saw it when I unboxed it. It's actually pretty noticable and I am spotting such things always pretty quick. ;)

So I think I am going to exchange that one because I know that I will always have an eye on it from now on...

I read your post wrong. I thought you meant the screw threads were stripped, not the heads. I would have thought that the watch was assembled by a machine, as most mass-produced watches are, but maybe someone with a strong arm puts in the screws.

Hi and welcome Leitplanke (cool nickname )!
I have one stripped screw on my WS-220 - but since that one was not really expensive I don't care. I don't think I'll ever have to unscrew the screws on top of the bezel.

    cheers, Sedi

Mine did not come stripped. I'd get a replacement because the watch itself is great.
