Unable to calibrate compass and thermometer at model SGW100B-3V

Hi, and congratulations for this excellent forum.

I recently acquired a SGW100B-3V digital watch, and I am unable to calibrate its compass and thermometer features. I did everything as its user manual implies, with no luck. Could it be a faulty item?

Thanks in advance for your help.

    RC.

The big difference between an analog and a digital watch:

    - An analog watch is an interpreter (about 10-11 minutes to eleven)
    - A digital watch leaves no room for interpretation but only facts (10:58:50)

Basically I can not get to work the compass and the thermometer. I believe that I need an initial calibration of such features, but it does not work.

    Thanks.

Your watch uses Module 3157, here is a link to the manual for your watch:

    http://ftp.casio.co.jp/pub/world_man.../en/qw3157.pdf

You need to tell us at what step in the calibration/adjustment procedure exactly what "does not work" for us to help you.

If you follow the instructions in the manual for Compass and Thermometer calibration, you should be OK.

I got an error message at step 3 (to calibrate the bearing sensor), page 2 of the “linked” document.

    Thanks.

You are probably rotating the watch too slowly or too quickly, or not holding the watch level. You may also be too close to a source of EM radiation (computer, TV, cell phone, speakers, etc.).

Try taking the watch off your wrist and placing it face up on an inverted glass or paper/plastic cup. Place the cup on a level surface well away from anything electronic or magnetic. Try the calibration process again making sure that as you rotate the cup/watch counterclockwise you are keeping pace with the indicator on the watch.

    Good luck!

Thanks for your help and advice.

I did what you mentioned, and nothing. I will return such to the supplier. I should have bought instead the PAW1300-3V

    Thanks.
