Well the timepiece came from Arizona Fine Time and I was pleasantly surprised by this piece for sure. Really a eyecatcher.
I will start with the box which was rather large in my opinion but nonetheless what it is placed in. The box was marked on the outside as "The Signature Collection". Upon taking off the top box cover you find a very nice box casing that was stitched around the edges and has the Citizen logo embossed on same. The bottom part of the box I forgot to mention has the front flap fold out and underneath in a recessed area is your warranty card and a instructional CD for operating the timepiece. This is a very nice part of this presentation. See pictures!
Now to the actual timepiece itself. Upon opening the case that houses the piece I was met with a beautiful almost totally invisible sapphire glass! I really mean invisible. It appeared the piece had no glass what so ever. The anti-reflective coating makes viewing the dial face easy at most any angle. You can at times see a slight blue tint from the coating. But compared to other regular models this is like having the Ferrari over the Cadillac.
I inspected the the glass and dial face and every part was immaculate and without flaw from the naked eye. The hour markers were all in equi-distance apart with no unfinished flaw that I could observe. The timepiece came programmed perfectly except for my time on the east coast.
The titanium bracelet had to kinks or hang ups what so ever from the bracelet test I perform on my watches. Each link was exactly like it's neighbor. The watch boast a two tone like finish on the bracelet. A more shiny look to the center link area and a more dull finish to the outer link area. Not so noticeable unless you look closely.
The crown was as expected by any Citizen. A noticeable notch for the two pull out positions. Some watches you just cannot feel the discernable catch. But on Citizens I feel them very well. No blemishes or rough edges around the watch body crown area.
The back faceplate also designates the "Signature" series as well. My only gripe was the plate was placed on where it's final rest was upside down. No big deal other than me being as anal as the tv character "Monk"!
The clasp worked and held like it should.
I put in the instructional CD which accompanied the watch and went through some setting features. Somewhat complicated to learn but once it is set, really you never have to go back. I have yet to set the alarm function so I can't comment on it.
The width of the timepiece from edge to crown as I measure was just over 48mm and the depth just over 12mm. Well balanced and not too light or heavy.
The timepiece properly cycled to Dec. 1st from Nov. 30th as expected. If your timepiece is properly set from the factory it should too. If it does not check the calendar mode to make sure it was in the proper month setting if it is/was a 30 day month rather than a 31 day.
Now the dealer! Joe at Arizona Fine Time was a real knowledgable man and has a passion for timepieces. I would do business again in a heartbeat! His price was great and shipping was to my liking.
This timepiece comes with a 5 year warranty as all know and I hope or believe I should never need it given my track record with my Citizen timepieces.
Now to my rating:
Value: 10
Fit: 10
Function: 9.5
Finish: 10
Overall rank: 9.875
Overall this timepiece almost gets a perfect 10. I gave a 9.5 for function only because to view month designation you have to go to the calendar mode then pull the crown out to it's position #2 for the seconds hand to point to the month it is. Other than that, it is all elementary friends.
If your on the edge of buying a Signature series I can assure you, they are a value for the money. Hard to get a handmade/assembled watch for under 1K!
