    First post!

Long time lurker. I'm by no means an enthusiast but been really eyeing MKII past and present. Looking to pull the trigger on a LRRP GMT 48 and joining the club. Any reasons why there are not much "chatter" about it? Is it just so new or am I just missing something?

    Congratulations on your first post!

As for the lack of chatter, it seems that you're not the first to wonder about that:

Welcome to the forum, glad to have you aboard. I believe that some of it may be the amount of attention that has been generated by the Kingston, and now the PanAm GMT.

Personally, I think the LRRP GMT is a great watch. In fact had the PAnAm not gotten off the ground, that was my next choice. Very nice watch, great movement, and MKII quality, what more could you want!!

Incoming! Lead time on the site said 2 weeks. Does anyone know if that timing actually hold up?

    Thumbs Up Re: First post!

    Congratulations!

MKII's time frame was accurate on the delivery of my Vantage in August- No worries.

    And as Arthur said:

I was itching to push the "Buy" button but Project GMT launched, so I chose that instead for my MKII GMT watch.

Please post pictures, and welcome to the forum. There's a fascinating bunch of watch fanatics here-very lively community.

    Cheers!

From what I can gather on these forums MKII delivery times vary. I placed an online order for a Milsub on Sat 25 Feb. Website said delivery in 2 to 3 weeks. My order was processed the following Tuesday. A week or so later I discovered the Order Status Portal. It states shipping is slated for Sat 7 April. Baselworld intervened. That will bring delivery to six weeks at minimum. Considering the Milsub is Swiss-made I am not surprised with the shipping time associated with that. Then Bill tests it.

For the record I do not mind one bit as to the wait as long as the watch is properly sorted out. Every indication from reports here and elsewhere is that it will be.

Singular independent craftsmen are like that. Try ordering a bespoke shotgun some time.

To paraphrase Henry Rolls, "The quality will still be there long after the wait has been forgotten."

    Re: First post!

That's a great way to look at it (I'm waiting on a Paradive and thinking of pulling the trigger on a GMT).

I think we get used to ordering mass-produced watches and having them turn up four days later. We're not buying mass-produced watches when we buy MkII, which is part of the reason we buy MkII in the first place.

(I'm sure this point has been made a million times before, but it's a new perspective for me.)

You must be reading the wrong forum. I think at times this forums is more like a day care. LOL

Congratulations on the purchase. Post pics when you get it.
