    Kingston question - non-gilt dials?

All - If I'd been paying proper attention I'd probably know this answer, but I lost track of MkII for a couple years while I busy with kids/job/moving/etc.

All the Kingstons seen thus far are gilt dial, regular insert. Are these non-gilt dial/red triangle versions yet to go into production?

I'll be stalking the FS forums when/if they do... Gorgeous.

    Cheers - Jeff C

I have a Kingston configured exactly like the one in the photo. I received it in October. I think you have seen more gilt dials because people prefer them. I ordered the gilt dial as my "spare" dial. Having seen the dial in person, I can see why most have opted for the gilt dial. I will probably swap mine out at some point.

The gilt dial makes the Kingston more unique IMHO. I do like the non-gilt version in the pics i have seen though. A non-gilt should be available on the GMT and the non-LE Kingston in the future.

Re: Kingston question - non-gilt dials?

Non-gilt was available for the plank kits and maybe some of the general orders. I made it into the general order from the wait list and wanted the exact configuration in the photo shown above. It turns out they didn't have enough non-gilt dials left and Bill said the best thing for me to do would be to wait on the non-LE Kingston. I must be the only guy here who doesn't like the gilt, but it just doesn't do anything for me.

Re: Kingston question - non-gilt dials?

Some owners of the Kingston plank orders with spares may have ordered the non gilt dial as part of their spares kit. My advice would be to look out for one of these when they pop up as you could be in for a very long wait for the non ltd version of the Kingston considering all the projects Bill has going at the minute. I have seen a non gilt Kingston for sale just the once.
I would agree with White Tuna though, the gilt dial and hands makes the watch that bit more special than the other homages out there. If its a plain dial sub style watch one is after, there are plenty of options
    Watch list:

Here's a thread with lots of non-gilt pics:
