    Are MKII having stock issues?

Hi Everyone, I would love to order a MMT Blackwater, however the only dealer with a price that I thought was acceptable was gnomonwatches.com, and he has no stock left. I am in the UK, with exhange rates the way they are, buying in Euro's from the authorised dealer in europe works out to be over £500, way too much.
Someone needs to get some stock out to gnomonwatches so he can start shipping them out so we can afford these fantastic watches.
I would buy one right now if someone could offer a good deal, i see there is a new one on Ebay but the seller has very little feedback so I wouldn't buy it.

How about buying from MkII directly? Why the need to go with a third party vendor?
    Lots of dive watches.

Same issue here - would love a custom Blackwater but even the £-$ exchange rate is not what it could be.

Winchester eh, not too far from me Near Portsmouth!
Your right the exchange rate is so bag, im getting a Precista to tide me over until I can afford a MKII. Hopefully someone will realise that we cant afford them and get the authorised dealers in UK / Europe to adjust the price accordingly.

Actually, I usually feel the same way, just going the OTHER direction! I bought a couple of watches from the UK in the past few years, and the exchange rate hiked the last one up a good bit more than a comparable watch bought on this side of the pond. We've seen the prices of Precistas, CWCs, etc. hike up quite a bit in USD, although they remained unchanged in GBPs.

But I would think that buying direct from the MKII site would at least cut out some of the cost from reseller markup.

Two days ago, I emailed Gnomon regarding a Stingray Mod2C and they have them in stock. Unfortunately, they said, by contract, they could not send on to the US.

I'm in San Francisco, Tadgear is the nearest AD, but they have no Stingray's, just Seafighters. I hope MKII would have regular stock soon.

Or I could wait 6 months and order a custom made Stingray.

£496.34 Plus shipping from the MKII site. Absolutely Crazy!!!!!! I can get a Longines Hydroconquest for not much more. I hope the economy starts to sort itself out soon I think we are all missing out.

The 6 months for this was worth the wait. Bill assemples them personally, regulates them, lots of personal TLC on the custom watches. I'm very picky and have quite a few watches, the watch is excellent and he managed to regulate it to +1sec/day.

I haven't bought one of Bill's pieces since 2004, but I doubt certain aspects have changed at all. You get a personalized creation, built to your order with your choice of components from his available options. Each watch is painstakingly assembled and adjusted, and shipped only when he's satisfied he's shipping a quality product. Try THAT with one of the manufacturers listed above!

As to exchange rates, MkII watches has no more control over that than you or I. In the recent past, the GBP was at an all time high to the USD if I'm not mistaken. Great time to have bought for the Brits! But now, the Pound is also down (not like the Dollar has climbed much!). Such is the economy of the world.

I recall seeing an Aussie on another Forum, wishing to make a purchase. If only the Australian Dollar would gain a bit more strength to the American Dollar he said. Thing was, I'd been watching the charts. The USD had dipped quite low, while the Aussie Dollar had soared to never before reached heights. Seems he wanted more. I bet now he's wishing he'd bought when the exchange rate was as favorable as it has EVER been (the very time he was wishing for more). Sorry to babble on. The rates are the rates. We're all dealing with lousy economies (Michigan has the worst economy in the 'States right now, trust me, I feel your pain! ).
    Regards, T Bone.
