    My friend's Benrus Type 1 class A

A friend on mine (same guy I posted about before with info about Rolex Milsubs) said he dug out his old Benrus. It was issued to him when he was on SEAL team 2 back in the 70s.

I'll try to get some pics eventually, and if his sons don't want it, I have already told him I want to buy it.

It's like the watch in the photos at this link...

Benrus Type I Class A Military Dive Watch

    Stay tuned.

On the one hand, it's a beautiful thing when a watch is passed on to the next generation.

On the other hand, it's NOT a beautiful thing if the next generation doesn't really give a damn about the watch. Not that they should, but better the watch is loved and appreciated by someone rather than being pawned off in a garage sale.

So... I hope that either (a) one of his sons will appreciate it or (b) he'll sell it to you!

    Good luck - Jeff C

    That's really pretty!
    Really very nice!

Life is short. How sad to have realized in your death bed that you've worn a crappy watch as a "daily beater" for most of your days.

It's cool to see what a Nato strap does to a caseback. Considering the age and hard use of the watch, it looks like not much.

Well, and that's a blasted finish, likely more susceptible to showing wear. I know that my Vantage caseback gets a tiny bit at the farthest edges of the caseback from my Natos.

Funny you mention that. I think my Kingston has more wear on the back then this one due to NATO's and RAF's. Being polished as apposed to blasted might have something to do with that of course.
