No it came in a jewelers proprietary box and not original box but its never been used.

Yes
I've seen those on Ebay for years. They're old and they're made in Japan and I'm 99.9% sure they are not affiliated with Doxa of Switzerland, the watchmakers....

Chances are it would have come in a box like this:
. I have a similar cheapie wrist compass in the same box except there's no writing on the side panels. End flap says NO. CPS09. The compass itself doesn not have any DOXA marking on the dial, only "Japan" . Looks to be 1950/1960s vintage and typical Japanese period consumer quality. Looks like there's one like yours on ebay now, priced at $199
