    Dial scratches on SUB 300T

There is a vintage Doxa SUB 300T that I am interested in and the seller would like to know how much I would like to offer with consideration to the flaws to the dial.
There are two scratches on the dial. They are not deep, but can be seen rather easily. Would this lower the value considerably?
    Thank you.

From the looks of the bezel, the watch has been well worn! If you want the watch as a daily beater the scratches on the crystal are not significant, but do hurt the resale value. Use the scratches and the condition of the bezel to get a good price. Since it is on a NATO I assume there is no bracelet which also hurts resale. You may get a deal on the watch.

I would also want to know the age of the watch to know when a service is due.

While I don't know what to offer, I would suggest low. Does the seller have a figure in mind? Cheers, Bill P.

Those marks have very little effect on the value. They are almost expected in a watch this old.

The scratches are on the dial and the crystal is brand new and flawless and is sapphire. Possibly 500.00 I should offer?

Are you sure they are scratches and not crazing ? I have a Divingstar that has the spider web effect just like the Rolex's .....

As for value $500 dollars would be a steal for a vintage like that, I'd certainly pay more :)
    Too many watches

I have never heard of dial crazing until now. I am still somewhat of a watch newbie, LOL.
I just google searched the term watch dial crazing and see that it is fairly common for a vintage enameled dial (assuming original Doxa 300T's have enameled dials) to have crazing.
On the watch I am interested in, as seen in the shots I included above, there are two areas that could be crazing and not scratches. One area is at the 11:30 position and is a very strait line that is not very deep. The other area is a curved line at about the 1:00 position.
A cool story about this watch that the seller told me is that her husband won it in a 1980 poker game. A high stakes game of poker reminiscent of a game that Jimmy Buffet could have played in Margaritaville!
