    Doxa "Height" Question

So I have an affinity for dive watches albeit they are somewhat less then practical for the desk diving at work. I want to pick up a Doxa but I am concerned about the height of the watch. I don't mind a big diameter face, I just don't like them being terribly tall. I just don't want to feel like I am beating the crap out if it. <- I do realize these statements are somewhat silly when actively buying a dive watch since thats what they are known for.

    Previous dive watches (since sold)

Omega Seamaster Professional Chrono (SS) - 1998-ish, Loved the watch, too heavy and too tall. It felt like I kept hitting it against everything.
Breitling Seawolf (Ti) - 2004-ish, Liked the watch, light (titanium) still too damn tall and I still felt like I kept hitting it against everything.

Current watch - Rolex Sub . Love the watch, love the height, (wee bit obscene on the price but you do what you gotta do), Not planning on selling it.

I'm just looking for another something else a little "different".

Anybody know what the height is on the Doxa's or can point me to somewhere that i can find the info?

    Thanks
    -e

Thanks for reply.. I did check them up beforehand.. All I saw was Length, Weight & Dial Diameter. I didn't see height. Was I looking at the wrong place?

Dr. Pete's site has more detailed specs of the vintage and re-iisue Doxa Subs. The site is an excellent reference and will quickly suck you into an evening of browsing. Check it out and let us know if you cannot find what you need...

the lowest profile modern sub has to be the 600t with it's flat caseback and thinner bezel. I like how the 750t sits low on my wrist and once again I believe it is due to the flat nature of the caseback. I fount the 5000t sat too high on my wrist.

    Re: Doxa "Height" Question

The one problem with looking at the height specs of a watch is that it doesn't take into account the caseback design.
I have a 1000T and a 1200T. Overall they are the same "height" and have a rather deep caseback. Both wear well without being overly heavy. I would guess they would measure about 14mm. With the deep caseback, they tend to sit lower on the wrist as the caseback will ride in any slight indent in the wrist.
I also have an Aquadive that is listed at 15mm and looks like it is much larger because it has a flat caseback and sits very high on the wrist; much higher that the 1mm difference would suggest. I can only speak to these models but hopefully you get my point.
    Good luck,

    Bill

    Re: Doxa "Height" Question

All the Doxas I own hug the wrist. All of them fit under a shirt cuff as slick as any dress watch I've ever owned. This design feature is also what makes them an excellent dive watch that you won't be bashing into anything that your wrist gets close to.
