Great story and awesome results, Jason! The toughest part is just starting the process and taking the first step, so congrats on making excellent progress.

Well done sir, very well done. It's such a common problem today, sit around and gain weight. I'm inspired to start exercising more days per week, just like you!
Congrats there J, looking sharp! I know you're proud.![]()
Have a nice day.
Way to go Jason. With some of us it takes a medical emergency, like an Infarct to wake us up
. In this instance I speak from experience. Once you make that lifestyle change it's all pretty easy, it's that first step that's the hardest. Like you I've found that 7 days a week exercise is the best and I've been doing it for 11 years. Keep up the good work

Good for you man!!! I know there are times when I want to change something about myself, but it gets thrown to the back burner. But sometimes, it makes it's way into my life and I make the change. It's called being human, and something to be proud of. Nice going!!!
Good for you Jason!!! Congrats!
Jason,
congrats to this fantastic results. Sports combined with simple food-controlling is the best way to keep your weight in balance. Better than any kind of diet.
I do in the same way since I was 25 (I’m now 47) and never had more the 160 lbs in all these years. Actually I have around 140 lbs. (I’m 6 ft. tall).
Decreasing your weight from 222 to 170 lbs. is a fantastic gift for your health. So stay in this way …
Good luck
Best Regards
Holger

Jason - inspiring! I suppose this is all about extending your bottom time in Cayman.
Personally, I find it depressing how I have to work harder with each passing year (now dangerously close to 40) just to maintain - let alone improve my health. Obviously, some have to battle genetics more than others, too. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you everyone for your kind words. It has not been easy, but it has DEFINITELY been worth it, and I would ABSOLUTELY undertake this challenge again.
Diving definitely played a part in helping to inspire me to begin this journey. Honestly, there were primarily 3 different elements that were the catalyst to start my transformation:
-- We took a family trip to Anchorage AK this last fall. We hiked in Denali National Park, and I realized just how out-of-shape I really was. We climbed one mountainside near Eielson Visitor Center in Denali where the elevation change was ~1,100 feet in about 1/2 mile. I had trouble keeping up with wife/kids
-- I DESPERATELY want to take Fundamentals class (Scuba class for those that don't know). One of the benchmark theories for this class is to be in the best physical condition that one can possibly achieve. This is my goal.
-- Turning 40y.o. this year is worrisome to me. My brain tells me that I just finished High School, but my body was telling me otherwise. I guess I am just trying to hang-on to my youth for as long as possible. (not the best reason, but Hey........It got me here)
Best Regards,
Jason
