Limited Edition- DOXA Military PVD Sharkhunter T-graph ????

    Hi Doxa-Fans,

who would buy a DOXA Military PVD Sharkhunter T-graph, if Doxa produce one in a LE ??? I possibly would.

Is there a special reason why DOXA did not produce one so far?? I could imagine that there is a demand..

Maybe Doxa can give us some good reasons....????

As a military person myself, I would love to see a PVD T-Graph but I doubt that the market would justify producing one. From my observations, I do not think that the PVD models sell anywhere near as well as the stainless ones do.

Who knows though? It could happen...

For me the problem with a PVD finish on a watch is that they show scratches much worse than the silver colored stainless models. Once a black PVD has any flaw it shows up very noticeably. I tried one PVD watch and that will be my last. Cheers, Bill P.

I can understand that point of view. I kind of like the scratches that show up on a PVD watch. The first ones sting a bit but they eventually become part of the character of the watch. As long as I have a few nice stainless ones in the collection, a well wabied PVD will always be welcome.

You can always buy a T Graph and have it PVD coated by IWW or ceramic coated by MCWW.

All PVD finishes are not created equal. I know for certain DOXA's process is VERY tough (search discussions we've had on it here before).

I do understand your position, surprised myself that mine 5 years after arrival in my collection is still scratch free. Yes, I do have a number of watches that I rotate, though this one has gotten more wrist time than most of them, and it's proven itself quite tough in numerous bangs and scrapes (one time i thought I'd actually scratched it banging on the side view mirror of my car, only to find it was only a dirt mark that wiped off easily ). In not one place so I see a deep scratch or any stainless steel visible.

This is also an excellent idea, and the two vendors mentioned here both have top reputations among many many WUS Members.

Having it done is certainly an option. I have also heard nothing but good things about both shops. I'm planning on having one of my watches cerakoted at MCWW sometime this year. It won't be a Doxa but I do still like the idea of an all black T-Graph, Sharkhunter of course.

Very much in love with my current (ONE) Doxa 5000t PVD Mil sub (somehow PVD finishing perfectly fits on a smaller wrist size).

That was my first Doxa and I still miss it. I ended up wearing it for about five or six months before I sold it to get cash for a 750T SH. I ended up selling that one to fund my 750T Pro. Damn, I wish that I could have kept them all. I will say that I was extremely impressed with the PVD coating used on the 5000T. I did not baby mine and it only had one slight scratch on it that was there when I bought it. I'd have to guess that someone took an axe to it prior to my picking it up because I certainly could not punish it enough to scratch it...

Enjoy yours as I enjoyed the time that I spent wearing mine.

I sure would... in a heartbeat. Especially if they made it a proper tactical military watch. Muted markers, tritium, 22mm lugs for NATO's etc.
Doxa's is really good about sponsored watches for good causes, how about a United Nations model?

From the Swiss UN webpage: "With its 193 member states the United Nations Organization (UN) is the only organization capable of providing a forum that allows all the nations and actors on the world stage to come together to discuss the many issues of worldwide importance that arise. The UN is universal in a sense unmatched by any other organization, both in terms of the subjects it deals with, its members, its involvement in decision-making processes, in creating international norms and standards and its unrivalled international presence. Despite certain shortcomings, it enjoys a unique legitimacy throughout the world."

That would be my pitch. Doxa? What do ya think?
