My first Clive Cussler book and ????

Ok, so I downloaded my first Clive Cussler book on my iPad, "Mediterrean Caper" and last night I finally had a chance to start reading it. I'm in chapter two Dirk where wakes up and can't go back to sleep so he checks his watch. (and here it comes, the part I've been waiting for, it's going to be a Doxa, but) It's an Omega! What, an Omega? Then he fires up a cig with his Zippo lighter. Ok, on the Zippo, but I thought Dirk Pitt wore a Doxa, or did he switch to one later in the series?

Don't be alarmed, this is the first book Cussler wrote and in this Dirk Pitt actually wears an Omega.
Cussler left his job at an advertising agency to work as a Dive Shop clerk when writing his second
book and when it was finished he quit that job and he was given a Doxa 300T Professional as a
present and from then on Dirk Pitt wears one too.

There's a page about Clive Cussler on Doxas website, with some quotes from his books mentioning
Dirk Pitts Doxa and a short interview with the story about the Dive shop. You can read it here:

Snulle, thanks for the info. I just finished chapter 4 and the iBook is getting harder to put down.

Yep, Omega in only one. And WRT the books, they get better following that one. For me, later in the series, they seem to fall into a "formula" of sorts, and get a bit lighter, but still a nice fantasy/escape from reality. You've got many great adventures yet ahead of you, and since you started where you did, I'd suggest reading them in sequence. Enjoy!
    Regards, T Bone.

Ha ha! Just read that scene where he's trapped in the dark tunnel, while riding home on the train, tonight: I was wearing my 600T, and my Omega was at home, in the drawer. As my wife likes to say, "How ironic is that?"
