    Two vintages?? Good on ya!

That Sharkhunter on mesh looks really sharp - definitely looks better on mesh than my Sub Pro IMHO.

Are both of them pre-Aqualung/U.S. Divers, or are they European market Doxas which wasn't supplied by U.S. Divers?

They both have metric bezels, so they were sold outside the US, hence no USD logos.

    Have a nice day.

    Re: Two Doxas, two sisters!

    Dear Steve,

the origin of both of the Doxas is quite a long story , but I will try to make a long story short.

Doxa sub 300 t sharkhunter was bought in Karlovac (small town near Zagreb, the capital of Croatia, where I live) two years ago, as a reaction to an advertisement in the local papers, given by a retired gentlemen from Karlovac. Few days after, I went to Karlovac to meet this gentlemen and to see the watch in person. The watch was in pitiful condition, all scretched and beaten up, but the price was redicoulous, bearing in mind the thrue potential of this watch.
The gentleman was an retired ex Yugoslavia militia men (police officer), who was in the early 70ies posted as a traffic policeman in the Plitvice national park, in the vicinity of Karlovac. On day he stoped an eldery Italian gentlemen because of the traffic accident. The gentleman was very much affraid of the Yougoslav police, so he gave the sharkhunter to the policeman to let him go. 30 years after here I come, and of course I bought the watch. The watch has been seriously revised by the master watcmaker Mr. Puzak in Zagreb and the result is in front of you. The mash bracelet was bought on the net.

The Doxa sub 300 t professional was bough las year in Split (beautiful town on the Adriatic coast-my hometown), from a friend of mine who is also a watcmaker. His father was a famous watcmaker in Split and he inherited the bussines. After he saw my sharkhunter, he told me that he remember that his father had a watch like that in his shop, but the dial was orange. I asked him if he still has a watch, and he told me that he has to look. Few days after, he phoned me and told me that he has the watch, but no movement. The sory was that in the early 70ies a famous diver from Split came to his father shop to service his Doxa pro. He was diving with it, probably didn't screw the crown enough, and the water went into the watch, ruinning the dial and the movement. My friend's father order the dial and the hands from Swiss (which wasn't a problem then), but in the meantime, the diver changed up his mind, decided to buy the Omega ploprof from my friend's father, and to settle the price with the Pro. This the reason why the dial is pristine, it is the time capsule from the 70ies. I bougt the watch for a three number price in euros (completely creasy bearing in mind the fact that the BOR bracelet can go as much as 700 US dollars on the e-bay), and the watch has been completely serviced and revised by Mr. Puzak in Zagreb.

    Hope You liked my stories!

    Best regards,

    Desi
