    Vintage Doxa Automatic Searambler Sub600t

    Hi Guys,
I'm new to the Doxa forum and I need some help. I just acquired a 1980's vintage Doxa automatic Sub 600t searambler that is in need of a service and perhaps a full recondition. It's not running now, but otherwise appears to be in good condition for a dive watch of this era (dial and bezel are clean, hour and second hand appear to have lost lume). Can anyone recommend a good watch guy or does Doxa recondition these? I'm located in Munich, Germany. Ideally I would like to have the movement serviced, the lume perhaps re-done (it's very, very weak) or at least corrected in the minute and second hand, the case re-brushed/polished and bezel action tightened (seams to have a bit of extra play) to bring back to tip-top condition and the minor scratches in the crystal polished. Also of course the gaskets replaced and water tightness checked. Your thoughts would be most appreciated

You have a wonderful vintage Doxa. If it were mine and I lived in Munich, I would visit at least 2 of the good German watchmakers there and seek suggestions from them. They should be able to point you in the direction you need to go. Please keep us posted. Cheers, Bill P.

Thanks for the great advice. I certainly intend to do that. Can anyone tell me if Doxa offers a reconditioning service for the true vintage watches (I seam I remember reading somewhere that they do)?

They do, not sure what parameters they have for the work though (which models/vintages etc.). Couldn't hurt to contact them as well. I'd contact them via Customer Service, I'm sure they can get you to the right place in the organization. See this thread.

All the work should be done by a trained local watchmaker. It should be no problem to find such one in a big city like Munich. That will save you a lot of money (shipping costs, insurance ...)

For special works on dial or hands I recommend 'Bethge' here in Germany. They restored dial and hands of my 300 noT incl. lume.
    Fantastic work:

I hope your Doxa ends up looking as good as subpro300's Doxa 300! His looks fantastic! Cheers, Bill P.
