Great pics of great watches guys, thanks! I guess I DID miss a lot at the introduction of the 1500... didn't even realize they'd offered a PVD version!
    Regards, T Bone.

Re: Who here has the 1500T? Pics please...

Sorry, a little late to the party. The 1500T is indeed a great watch and still IMHO the true heir to the Doxa line. Not that I'm bad mouthing the 5000, but I think that there were just enough changes to the 5000 to make it look a little un-Doxa like. Still the 5000 Sharky is a beauty.

Compared to its closest cousin, the 750, the 1500 seems a little less refined, meaning the 1500 loses a bit of the '70s era dress watch that you can wear for diving vibe. It's big and chunky, which is cool in its own way, just different. Tall, thick, and bold with a hefty bracelet, it still retains that quirky Doxa sexiness and fits great for its size.

On the other hand, despite the increased "tooliousity" of the watch, the 1500 shows that Doxa has refined its process over the generations of subs. This is most evident in the dial. My 750 dial is a pretty, but flat, orange with indices that look printed on the dial and a relatively thin font for the lettering. The 1500 is a bright but deep gloss with thickly applied markers and bold lettering. Sandwiched under that thick, domed crystal, it's magnificent to look at.

I don't think we've seen the last 1500 made, and unless you really want the classic '70s feel that would be ably served by the 1200, I think it is the current King of the Doxas. Long live the king!

The 1500 is tops on my list right now. I see that it's a "pre-order" on the site. What does that mean? Thanks.

I tried to order the 1500T last week and they are sold out except for the pvd version. Too bad it was such a limited run for a great watch.

Oooh. That's disappointing. I've been looking at the site for months and saving $$ as it seemed like there was availability.

Is that perhaps temporarily sold out? I don't recall hearing any such announcement of the model being over (again, I've missed some things!). I'd suggest contacting DOXA Sales directly for confirmation before writing it off entirely. Just seems unusually early for such a new model.

And thanks again for all the pics, great to see them. Deacon, never too late to the party, especially when you show up with awesome pics!
    Regards, T Bone.

    Thanks T-bone!

IIRC, the plan was for Doxa to produce about 50 or 100 of these to test the waters as there was about that many people who routinely clamored (looks away guiltily) for the 5000 with the classic dial. Doxa said at the time that it reserved the right to continue the line in the future if it thought there was continued interest in it.

My caseback says /1500, so there are plenty of model numbers left, although I believe there have been some Doxa Subs that did not make it all the way through their runs (750T again, IIRC).

I love it and I think it scratches a particular kind of Doxa itch, so I fully support Doxa completing the line. Although, since that would make mine less rare....
