Re: Last Option for Sinn Forum Watch

I voted for the orginal U1 44mm - I can't pull off anything larger on my girly wrists (no matter what it looks like)

    Two different sizes:

I'm a man with small-to-normal wrist (6.75") and usually wear watches between 38-42 mm. I'd suggest three sizes of any kinda Forum Watch:

a "she" watch of 33 mm,

a "he" watch of 40 mm and

a "hehe" watch of 47 mm

(BTW I'm a fanatic of mostly the 103 collection with some modification wish so no U of any kind for me.)

I'm a "big guy" (6'2 , 265) and could pull off wearing a 47mm but it just seems "too big" for a daily wearer. 44mm feels right.

    watch sounds fab.
When might the watch be available and how/where would we be able to purchase it?

It's hard to say when it will be available, but when it is it'll be sold directly from the Sinn factory in Frankfurt Germany.

    Thank you. that's exciting.

would you say though, though hard to say, first quarter or later in 2010?

and if i'm reading the thread right, it's very few differences from the U1?
white face and band, black case and bezel, luminous face, black hands, no red at all?

Sounds super. will there be a waiting list set up here to pre-order?

sorry if these are very naive process questions.

No worries and thank you for your interest.

Honestly I expected something by Christmas but hit a brick wall until the 47mm Super U was announced. I hope to have something on my wrist by Baselworld then out to forum members soon after, but who knows.

So far we are looking at a U1 with fully Tegimented case on a rubber strap with deployant, lumed white dial with gloss black markers and hands, a red second hand, and red or white and black markings on the bezel.

There will be a waiting list as we plan to only have 50 made (way more than 50 said they wanted one during initial polling).

I hope that answers most of your questions for now and yes, Chas and the boys do rock, don't they?

I assume the waiting list will open when the final watch is announced and once it fills up it is set? Thanks! Looks like it will be a nice addition if you can get one that is!

I want to avoid the drama WatchBuys experienced with their allotment of 50 EZM1 LEs.

For those not familiar with the story; WatchBuys sent out exclusive e-invites to their regular customers with a link to their sale page. The LE was offered on a first come, first served basis on a date and time that was announced within the e-invite. Of course this info was leaked out to the various watch forums and after the sale was complete there were complaints that persons outside of WatchBuys customer base won out over those for whom this offering was intended. There were also complaints that customers with faster internet connections had an advantage over those with slower connections. This was quite obvious when it came to light the 50 LEs sold out within 12 seconds.

When it's our turn to go public I'd like to see a lottery so everyone will have an equal chance. If a number is drawn and the member decides against making the purchase, another number will be drawn. That's about the most fair way I can think of.

    That sounds very fair actually.
