Crystal issue

I just noticed yesterday (not sure if watch arrived this way or not) that the bezel and crystal are not flush all the way around. I am at the office right now so i can't post pictures but it is fairly noticeable. Everything feels secure and I am trying not to be too anal about it, but is this something I should check out before I get the watch back in the water?

Shouldn't be an issue that affects WR, as the bezel doesn't relate to it. But it sounds like your bezel might not be snapped all the way down--try pushing down on it (with a couple of fingers so it's even) and turning it. You might also check to see if the the bezel is flush with the case around the bottom--it it isn't, it needs to be snapped down.

If you can't get it to work, it may have been bent or malformed somehow. Can you post any pictures?

Hi,
It happened to me and the bezel insert popped out. This is the reason why I later acquired the solid bezel (it is the same bezel from the Soarway Diver, as I have the "naked" stainless steel Phantom).

The bezel insert is not flat enough to fit the bezel. So it is only glued by the ring edge.

I tried to glue it but it didnīt end very well. So I will keep the Soarway bezel on.

I am pretty sure it isn't the bezel as the crystal is actually raised from the bezel on one side, not the other way around.

I will try to get some pics.

I'm assuming this is the SEAL, correct?

If so, perhaps the crystal was not replace properly after the modification. In which case, I'd ask Kobold for help.

If its your SOA, it must be a manufacturer issue. In which case, I'd ask Kobold for help.

Either way, if it is the cyrstal, I doubt anyone on the forum can offer any helpful advice. I'd get in touch with Dan. No idea what the cost will be, but they'll make it right.

FWIW, I had the same issue. My SS Seal came to me second hand and after wearing it a few days, I noticed the crystal just above the bezel on one side. just enough to catch with a fingernail. With the help of the people from this forum, I was able to determine that it needed to go back to KOBOLD. (Thanks again Daniel!) Ed fixed it right up, reset the crystal, cleaned up the case, checked the gaskets and movement. All was good. Took about a week. Give'm a call....

An attempt at pictures showing the crystal, not the best but you might be able to get the idea. I guess I will call Kobold next week and see what they have to say. I don't think there is anything structurally awry, but it does stick out the side enough to make me worried about catching it along a brick wall or something and taking a chunk out of the crystal

Yeah, that's not right. It should blend perfectly with the bezel (assuming the bezel is sitting flush with the case). Call Kobold and see, but they will probably want to set it right themselves.

Yep, that's exactly the way mine was. Thought the bezel was not on all the way at first, Ed at KOBOLD even walked me thru getting the bezel on properly. In the end the crystal was out just a bit. Now its a seamless transition to the bezel.

Looks like the SOA is going on the next fishing trip, hope the KOBOLD luck holds out
