Kobold SMG-1 Tactical

I have to say I am a newb when it comes to Kobold, but I must say I absolutley love the SMG - 1 Tactical. I can not afford it new right now, so I have been looking for a slightly used one, but with no luck. I have however, found the non-tactical version for sale, and remember reading somewhere that it is possible to PVD a non-PVD watch. This leads me to my question.

Should I wait it out and hope for a tactical to become available, or should I buy the one I found and PVD it? Thanks!

I guess it depends on how long you are willing to wait for one. To PVD a watch you are probably looking around $500-$700 or more depending on if you are getting a bracelet done as well. Figure the amount to PVD into what you are willing to spend, and that should give you an idea if it is worth it or not.

In addition, it can be difficult to find a vendor for PVD-ing, and that process itself can take a long time as well. I suggest if you are thinking of doing so that you talk to whoever you want to do the work and see what the time-frame and cost will be.

The SMGs are usually hard to find.

There is one on a big auction site right now I believe, but come up every few weeks either on WUS or TZ.

I have not seen a Tactical listed, but there are a few out there. Put up a WTB post on WUS and TZ and see if you get any responses.

Both are great watches.
