The Soarway GMT is now posted on the Kobold web site. It looks and sounds very, very good, and it comes with a special price until December 1. I almost wish it didn't come with a tantalizing deal . . .

Ahh, you got the scoop!!!! Nice job.

Except for the position of the crown, the case seems identical to that of the LSD. The blue dial and brown/tan alligator strap are a sharp combination.
Nice scoop John. I think your post will net a lot of web traffic for Kobold
The blue dial is nice, as always--but that "Titanium Gray" dial ain't too shabby, either--a nice muted "Tool" look to it.
The grey dial shows better than I thought it would. Not so big on the polished case, but that is just me. A $3500 watch that only comes with a zulu is a bit insulting honestly to me though. Not saying it has to come with a top o the line strap or anything, but the standard Kobold leather would seem appropriate.
I am sure it will be a very popular watch and I can't wait to see some "live" shots, but my funds stay safe with me on this one.

Beautiful dial options but I'm still ambivalent about the utility of the bezel. Any clue of what msrp will be?

I think that the MSRP on the watch will be $5250, at least according to the dupont register.
I can understand the decision to only include the nato for the introductory price, if you like the watch and have the funds, it's not a bad deal. You can always source some really nice aftermarket straps for less than a Kobold strap.
It seems that, in a sense, Kobold has made the decision to focusing on watches and let the growing sub-speciality of aftermarket strap makers worry about the straps..
Phaedrus........
Haha! Or you can buy the Kobold Alligator strap for "a discounted price" of $300! That's a discount? You can order a custom alligator strap from the finest maker in France for less than the discounted price! Ridiculous!
The watch is also not a true GMT--it functions like every other 2893 movement out there where you have to read the travel time off the 24h hand. A useless function, IMHO. It's a shame they couldn't innovate.

Good looking watch.I like the case size and the ratio of dial to bezel surface area and I'm diggin' the dials, but I'm still tuned off by the lack of markings on that bezel.
To each his own...
Best regards,

I'm probably the opposite of everyone. The bezel is ok, but I don't like the dial. Even though it's within the Kobold brand, I feel it's ripping off the SMG-1. That being said, the blue dial with a tan leather strap seems very cool. If I didn't have the SMG, I'd consider this, if bead blasted.
