    First IWC- Ingenieur 3227

For as I can remember since falling in love with watches I have always admired the IWC brand. Their watches, their innovative designs, and their history. For one reason or another I never got round to actually owning one despite going through my fair share of Omegas and Rolexes. Maybe it's because certain models I've really fancied rarely pop up on the used market. Anyway this week I was able to snag a model that I always loved since it's introduction in 2005. Sadly for some reason they stopped producing these for their line up in 2009- the Ingenieur 3227.01. The quality of this watch has exceeded my expectations...as has the weight of this watch on the wrist! It's a design classic and hopefully It'll be a keeper for me. For me this epitomizes everything about a modern premium sports watch - build quality, exquisite finish, fine details, wrist presence, anti-magnetism and sufficient waterproofness for my desk diving. I've a feeling this could lead to another IWC in the near future

Are there many 3227 owners here? Let's see some love

That's a great watch. I've considered it many times.

    Congratulations, Sunster, very nice pick-up
I've written this before, to me, this watch has an almost tank-like feel to it. Solid and massive. I really like it.
The only unfortunate thing? Too big and massive for my skinny wrist.

    Enjoy.

PS - you're not cashing in on your future Nassau-sale gains, are you? Sorry guys, bit of an insider joke - if you want the gist and all the ugliness, visit the MKII forum

A great watch--the 3227 series is one of the best in the business, I think. My Ti version is the perfect tool watch of all time, could go through a meat grinder, and with a little bit of elbow grease would look as good as new. Enjoy yours.

That is a gorgeous watch that I'd love to own someday. I recently tried on one of the new Mission Earth Ingenieurs and it wore too large on my wrist. The shop also had one of the AMG titanium chronographs, but I found the dial a bit busy and wasn't a huge fan of the finish, even though I'm sure it's durable. If I find a gently used 3227, I plan to snatch it up.

I'd highly recommend it. A classic that's not Rolex

This is the last Ingy model made by IWC that I love. It is a super watch, though a bit of a scratch and ding magnet in my experience. I hate that it was discontinued and replaced by a series of larger, unattractive watches that offer none of the classic appeal of this model. One can only pray that one day IWC comes to its sense and decides to make this model available again.

Wow, that is the first IWC I've seen that I actually like. Congrats.

My dream watch. I really hope I can find a used one in mint condition one day.

    Congrats on that beauty.

    Hello sir,

I seem to find myself agreeing with nearly everything you post. It's refreshing. Have a great Sunday.
