Help - My 1st IWC - Is it real or fake?

    Just got my first IWC.

    the case says 3513 1.

But all the models with that number has a date on the 3oclock spot.

Can anyone tell me if I bought a fake or I should just relax?

    Thanks.

    Here is the watch...

Wow, if it was a fake, I will have to have take my hats off to the replica company. Right down to the movement?

    Impressive.

I will have to say with 99% certainty that this one is real (assuming that he took the pic of the movement from the watch you got of course).

Remember, it is not that some watch company in China can not duplicate the work of IWC, they can. However, in order to do that, it would cost them quite a bit of money. You can not make money in replica market for putting that much money into the watch making considering they have to sell it to the distributor for $20-30 a pop.

As long as they send you the same watch in the picture, then you are good to go.

Also, no need to make a second thread about the same watch. Let's keep this forum clean.

i believe its authentic. those fake watches, even the really good "actual copies" that cost more than $500 use basic ETA movements. Your watch however has a labeled movement which basically answers the question.

It looks like an IWC modified ETA 2892-A2 (IWC calibre 37521) to me, which would be authentic I believe.

There is a lot of effort there if it is fake that's for sure and the watch in the photos certainly appears genuine.

It looks like it's from the 1950's judging from the design, the case shape, the size and the patina.
