Ingenieur 3725 affected by metal detectors at airport - advice needed

Recently went through a number of metal detectors in a fairly short period of time and after one flight I noticed how my lovely 3725 was not keeping time
It had, before my travels, been perfectly fine when it comes to time keeping.

Could the problem be so easy as the metal detectors/x-rays affected the watch and all it needs is to be de-magnitized?

Not likely, but if the watch has sped up significantly it may have become magnetized from coming in close contact with something like a big rotating drum, or other kind of heavy electronic device. If it has slowed down, then definitely not a magnetizing problem.

very highly doubt it. my mecahnical watches have been through up to 4 of these in 24 hours . when flying from Australia to UK. My bet is that it will be something else

Watch will take a visit to a watchmaker today to see what is wrong. Hope it's nothing too big...

Yeah unlikely... I go through airports almost every week and never had an issue like this..

My IWC has now taken a trip to the "doctor" who will check what is going on. Hoping that it's nothing too complicated!!
Should have an answer before the end of next week and then it will be off for repair for another few weeks.

    Thanks.
Insurance should cover the repair, but it's the fact that I'm without my favorite for quite a while that makes me the most upset

It does give me a chance to give the other watches in my boxes a chance

Re: Ingenieur 3725 trouble - advice needed

The verdict being that the watch needed a service - a statement that I don't believe in as it happened so sudden
Anyone have the experience of a watch in need of a service shows just like that and not gradually?

Will have it back on my wrist at the beginning of June so at least I will have it for summer fun

It's odd if it just happened all of a sudden - that's generally a magnetism issue of some sort.. How old is your Ing? A service may not be a bad idea anyways.. Hope it's back on your wrist for summer ;)
